Moving ships and berths can often cause unsafe situations in ports and can result in significant downtime. Understanding how a moored vessel responds to its environment and mitigating these effects can ultimately make the difference between a profitable port and a costly one.

Analysis that delivers

Powerful mooring analysis software was first made available in the industry in 1997, and since then, we have helped our clients to understand and optimise the design of marine developments. The methodology that we use is called Dynamic Mooring Analysis (DMA).

Using this analysis, our specialists assist our clients to optimise their marine facilities, which can help result in a reduction of CAPEX, the optimisation of existing marine infrastructure (including predicting the uptime of a facility), as well as increased cargo-handling efficiency. It also enables us to increase understanding of limits to reduce operational expenditure, increase safety and investigate incidents effectively.

To improve the mooring MBM Consultancy uses innovative mooring system OptiMoor™. The analysis can be used to evaluate strong winds, currents or passing vessels – and with that, it can assess and reduce the down-time of the terminal.
