The securing of cement components , stacked on wood, was an interesting topic to resolve.
The main issue is to define the actual co-efficient of friction generated between the wood and the surface of the cement during transport. The cement has two types of surface, smooth and rough, and also concave and convex.
Additionally, the straps applied for securing are not fully in contact with the surface of the cement, and can slide during transit if not secured at a correct angle.
Additionally, the items will be transported within the port and driven up ramps, and braking effects may be required to be calculated for the securing of the entire operation.
All rules for each operation must be complied, with one securing method.
MBM provided a working solution for the client to reduce the initial lashing proposal.
