The review to extend a new build vessel was undertaken at MBM. The original vessel design was reviewed based on potential markets and operational conditions to provide an optimum working solution. The focus of the project was on operations. Defining the number of cranes, their frame location, the stability at these frames during lifting operations, and the outreach capacity combined with the request for hold volume and length, and tank volume capacities due to power/resistance and engine selection, also combined with hatchcover design, operation and selection of folding or pontoon types, presented the team with the challenges to overcome and finally deliver the optimum operational solution.

The output delivered from MBM was a new lightship for the vessel, stability booklet for all departure and arrival conditions, lower hold strength review, the general arrangement, capacity plans of all tanks and volumes, new steel frame sections, and piping systems.

A non-disclosable to public dwt vessel
